What are the fundamental differences in focus, technique and style between the Carlson Gracie schools vs those with a Helio- lineage?

Back in the day, of course, this would be sacrilegious but thankfully we've moved well past it. Now I may need to split weekly training between 2 schools. I'd rather concentrate on learning more specifics on the techniques I'm learning now, than just adding new techniques.

(For context, I'm an older hobbyist, purple belt.)

Would splitting training between, say a Rickson-based approach, and a Rey Diogo curriculum, be significantly different? Or are pretty much all schools such a mash-up now it really depends on the specific school/lead coach?
