Black Skimmer Island access

Hey everyone! My lady friend and I will be in Fort Myers, FL area this upcoming week for a birding trip. We would love to get out to Black Skimmer for a chance at seeing the Flamingos that have been recently seen there. Does anyone know the most cost effective/best way to get out there for an hour or so? Boat rental? Jet skis? Doable by kayak? Any hookups out there? Thank you so much in advance! Happy birding!
