What's your playstyle/build for this game!

I'm having such a hard time picking a focus because the options are so easy to blend together! I love using magic when possible in RPGs so a real spell book and wand is awesome but you mean I can also use a spell book WITH A PISTOL while carrying a war hammer!?

How have y'all been playing and what perks do you think are essential?
