Prove or disprove god exists, leap of faith

Hi! Basically the title, for the semester I was in college my philosophy of religion professor I seem to remember going over that there is not a solid philosophical answer to whether or not there was a god hence the idea of faith.

I haven’t seriously in engaged with that subject for a while but have encountered some vocal atheists irl that just seemed to me to be areligious and not exactly speaking in good faith, so I’m curious if I’m misremembering. Also would love recs for further study! I’ve done some kierekegaard (works of love, some either/or) and had some fun with the idea of metempsychosis after a protracted bout of reading David Foster Wallace and looking into all around that lmao.
