Do any of you practice a religion?

My partner asked if we would baptize our children (not yet existent) and I said maybe. He went off on me saying he doesn’t know if he wants to have children with me after stating the support for a genocidal and colonial institution. I said that it’s not the support for the church because I’m not even a church goer since middle school, but that I would like to baptize my children out of the pure customs and traditions. That we don’t even have to force them into the religion after being baptized because I was never forced into religion after being baptized. I thought I turned out fine with little to no traumas from it. He, on the other hand, grew up in a Mega church and was deeply traumatized by it and is completely against anything that has to do with a church. He basically said that’s a non negotiable after going out for 4 years. Do any of you practice? How did you find that middle ground? Did you ever?
