How to make new Apple TV Remote Turn on/off TV

Original Post: Hello. I have a few new Apple TVs in my house. My favorite thing about new remote is the power button to turn off and on the TV, but it only does this with some TVs, or if Apple TV is placed in a certain spot.

What’s the real trick or specifications in order for Apple TV remote to turn on/off the physical TV without HDMI CEC. Any insight or recommendations would be great. Also willing to Venmo the person that solves this issue for me! 🙂

SOLUTION: In the remotes and devices section. Please learn a remote for volume function, when it comes to the mute button teach it the remotes power button. Then mute will control on/off of TV
