Breaking into construction with no relevant experience?

Hi there,

I was laid off in September, and I’ve been on EI since then. I’ve applied to hundreds of jobs in fields that I have experience in, but as the story goes, not much has turned up.

I don’t like the fact that I’m sitting around at home, and would like to roll up my sleeves and do something productive, since I don’t know how many more months it’ll take until I’m back on my original track.

I’ve heard that construction is always looking for folks even for general labour, but I have no knowledge of this field, such as reputable entities that will take on new folks and provide fair and honest work.

I have a BA in Political Science from UBC, and 6-7 years of experience including B2B SaaS sales, sales operations/enablement, customer success, retail sales, marketing, event coordination, team leadership roles, etc.

Any pointers would be appreciated.
