How to find an accomodation - York

So im trying to find an accomodation in York. University halls closed for me, since im not undergraduate.

How do people look for a place to stay in UK? In my country we just have one site that everyone use as deafault one in terms of rent advertisment and thats all. Its some new expirience, university was not particulary helpfull on the matter.

For suggestions how to do it i would be much greatfull :))
