Quilt Help: Katabatic, Flicker or Other? (See my quilt comparisons.)

Hi, this is my 1st post :-)

I need help selecting a new quilt, but for some reason I can't see a significant weight savings between a Katabatic quilt and a Feathered Friends quilt / sleeping bag (a much bigger fully enclosed bag).

I am trying to replace my old, heavy 15 degree mummy bag with a lighter option. I am willing to go for a quilt. While I am concerned about drafts, I am fine with a quilt if I can get significant weight savings.

I have been comparing all of the major brands with this detailed comparison sheet:

Quilt Comparison Sheet

I have narrowed my choices down to a 20 degree Katabatic Flex 22 Wide 6'6" or a Feathered Friends Flicker UL Wide 20 degree. I would think that the quilt would be significantly lighter but I am only seeing 1.7 ounce difference. So why would I choose the Flex quilt when the Flicker means there is no possibility of drafts for only an additional 1.7 ounces?

Maybe I am sizing my quilts incorrectly, but I can't seem to get down to that wondrous sub 20 oz weight I see on all of the youtube videos I have been watching. If you look at the sheet I made, typically the weight savings comes only with much lower fill or with a much smaller width or length.

A bit about me: I am 6'1" tall and weight 215 lbs. My shoulder circumference is 51" and my shoe size is 12.5". I am an active a side sleeper but roll around on my back and on each side during the night. I like larger bags. I sleep warm. I live in San Jose California and hike locally and in the Sierras.

What I am looking for: A 3 season bag. I also hike during shoulder seasons so I expect to see low 30s and high 20 degree nights when it is cold, and hot nights in the summer so I would prefer a quilt that can zip fully open. However, if it is hot I can take my costco quilt rather than this bag. If necessary, I am happy to sleep in long johns, my down jacket and my hiking clothing when it is cold.

Questions: I am leaning toward the FF Flicker but the weight seems high. If I can't get a significant weight savings I will go for the Flicker. So what weight should I expect to see? Am I choosing the wrong size quilt? How can I get that big weight savings by switching to a quilt? (The Zpacks Solo quilt seems like the best lightest option, but I have read poor reviews for the zPacks quilts.)

Thank you very much, I appreciate all of your help!
