UNIVERSITY COLLEGE

Hey, I hope you are having a good day! I was just doing some research into applying at university colleges offering Liberal Arts and Sciences within the Netherlands. I was wondering if you could maybe answer a few questions.

Firstly I was wondering which are the best university colleges in NL for the specific major of sciences, as I have heard they typically offer more courses within one or two majors. I am particularly interested on biology, the conservation and ecology part, and was wondering where they could offer more courses in this aspect of the sciences. It would also be appreciated if you could offer the method of teaching, as I don't particularly like lectures although I will do them if I have to.

As well as this I was wondering how much more is the workload in university college programmes as compared to non-selective ones. I am willing to put in the effor but just want to know what I'm getting into.

Lastly, I am starting to get worried about following the degrees with masters. I have hear you need to choose your courses wisely and put in the effort to specialize in that field (For me biology) but I don't really understand this. Do I have to work on my own? Do most masters within and outside the Netherlands accept this type of degree even with specialization? What if there are not enough courses to specialize?

I know I should also consider housing options but I kind of want to understand all of this first. Thank you if you took the time to read this and even answer it. Bye!
