Thoughts on Sangamon County Recorder race?

Today I was listening to an interview with the Sangamon County Recorder. It sounds like he’s been doing the job for a while and has made improvements. The opposing candidate said if he wins he wants to shut down the office and merge the duties with the County Clerk. I suppose I don’t know much about the services provided by the County Recorder but I’m wondering if anyone here has any thoughts on the race?
