Sonic characters and Japanese manga?

I know that Sonic appeared in various manga in Japan, and recently Shadow the Hedgehog had a manga appearance in CoroCoro; but I'm curious whether anyone knows the first manga appearances of characters such as Shadow the Hedgehog? Blaze the Cat? Silver the Hedgehog? Mighty the Armadillo? Mephiles the Dark?

Or did they just all appear in Archie Comics?
