Upset with Team Cherry? Then Stop Talking About Silksong.

So, a lot of people (myself included) are upset with Team Cherry that they essentially decided to break the multiple year long silence by trolling the community. I've seen people demanding a response from them, saying they'll pirate the game, etc. But here's the thing: Team Cherry's silence works because people won't stop talking about Silksong. This community has been their neverending hype man, critic, and most ardent defender. But the best thing you can do, whether you're upset with them or just want an update, is to stop talking about Silksong.

• Upset with Team Cherry and want to hit them where it hurts? Stop talking about it. There's a reason for the saying, "there's no such thing as bad publicity." Every audible fart from Leth ends up as news because this fanbase is so rabid, both positively and negatively. If you stop talking about Silksong, people will stop reporting on it.
• Just want an update from Team Cherry? Stop talking about it. Since we're they're constant hype man that wants the tiniest morsel of news to the point that a picture of a piece of cake got everyone to break out their tinfoil hats, this tells Team Cherry they need to do literally the bare minimum to trend and get free publicity whenever they want it. If you stop talking about Silksong and force it to become irrelevant, Team Cherry will have to put in the actual work to get people excited about it again.

Instead: Go live your life. There's plenty else to do in the world. Since I bought Hollow Knight in 2017, I've gotten married, had a baby, started my own company, and gotten in the best shape of my life. Now, eight years later, I might not have time to play Silksong when (if ever) it comes out. And honestly, that's better for me than staying on the hype train for a studio that clearly doesn't care about me or you. Live your life, play other games, and let Silksong fade into obscurity. Either way it'll force Team Cherry to do something different than they have been.
