Funneling and shortening after Cerclage. A plea for positive outcome stories.

Hey Everyone,

Last year at 23+4 I unexpectedly had a preterm birth and lost the child. I had a totally normal pregnancy up until the point I started unexpectedly bleeding and was rushed to the hospital, I then delivered within 3 hours. Fast-forward to this year I am pregnant again and everything seemed to be going really well. My doctor thought maybe a blood clotting disorder was the root cause so I have been on lovenox and progesterone the entire pregnancy. Then at 21 weeks my cervix started shortening and at 22 weeks (over Christmas) I was given an emergency cerclage. Everything looked really good at first, the funneling had gone down and my cervix was back to 2.2 and I was feeling really positive reading all the success stories and seeing the Cerclage statistics. Then yesterday I had an ultrasound appt and the funneling has expanded down to the stitch and my cervix is barely at 1.1. Doctor checked stitches asked about cramping etc. and said its not time to panic yet we just need to keep a closer eye on it so I'm going in again in 3 days.

I don't know if its just because I'm almost exactly at 23+4 again or if I'm having a legitimate freak-out but I can barely keep myself together at work today and I keep imagining all the worse case scenarios. I came here hoping to hear a success story from someone in a similar situation.

Has anyone else continued to have funneling and shortening after a cerclage and had a positive outcome? If so how many weeks did you make it to?
