Best resources for gameplay help?

I’m horrible at automation games. I’m always wildly inefficient and end up crafting way too much stuff by hand. I’m sure the wiki would be helpful but what could I use to help me better organize stuff for efficiency purposes?

On a side note, I noticed most buildings display their efficiency. Would it be best to do the math myself in order to maximize efficiency? After maximizing efficiency, where do I go from there? Add another miner onto an ore deposit and build more?
