I attribute 90% of my luck to cold emails
I've used cold emails to:
- Generate leads
- Book Calls
- Close deals
Here's my framework:
1) Keep it short and easy to read
In school they rewarded you for writing like a fancy poet But in the real world?
People just want your message minus the fluff
No one has time for your life story in an email
Respect their time
2) The hook is everything
A catchy subject line is your best friend.
No matter how amazing your email is it’s useless if it doesn’t get opened
Make your subject intriguing so that they open your Email or something really important for them
3) Now time to shine
Congrats they opened your email
Don’t waste their time and get to the point quickly
- Be specific
- Be personable
- Ditch the fluff
- Add value
- Make the ask super easy
4) Follow up like a pro
When you follow up make sure it’s valuable
Offer something different not just
“Hey, did you get my email?”
5) Test your emails
Don’t just send the same email to everyone.
Test different subject lines, CTAs, Value Prop and email formats
Get a feel for what works
Spoiler: it’s all about trial and error
6) Keep your call to action (CTA) simple
Want them to book a call? Don’t make it a maze
Give them clear easy instructions
The simpler the CTA the higher your chances of getting a response
7) Personalization is key
Don’t use templates that make you sound like a robot
Tailor your emails to show you’ve done some research
A little personalization can go a long way trust me
8) Quality > Quantity
It’s not about sending hundreds of cold emails
Focus on crafting quality emails to the right people
Targeted outreach will always outperform mass emails
