Somehow made the trapper mad...

So I'm early on in the game and I'm in an area with an $85 bounty. I kill the legendary ram and take it to the trapper. I sell it all to him and start looking at outfits. Then all of a sudden he freaks out and runs away, saying the police should hear about it. I don't think I hit "threaten" or anything. Did he just recognize me as wanted in the area? Anyways, the bounty is to $90 now.
