Logged Out and Now Can't Log In

I was away from my computer for about an hour this afternoon. When I came back to Prolific I was logged out for some reason, but when I tried to log back in I kept getting the wrong password message. Apparently after three tries you get locked out, because I got a message saying I would receive an email advising how to log back in. My question is why would my password not work all of a sudden? What I entered was absolutely the correct password in the correct format. Haven't received the email yet, but hopefully soon so I can figure this out. Has this happened to anyone else? I work at home, no one else lives here, and nothing has changed regarding my hardware or internet connection.
