Dare I say Spaleb should have been endgame? Anyone agree?
now when i first watched the show years ago, i never would have thought the writers would have paired these two up because these teen drama shows tend to pair a couple up while they’re in high school at the beginning of the show and then have that couple as endgame (which ultimately pretty little liars did exactly this in the end). so i went into the show expecting for Hannah and Caleb and Spencer and Toby to be endgame because that’s how these shows work. however, when I got to season 7 and spencer and caleb got together i was like OMG this is life changing. The writers genuinely took a leap with something that they knew would probably upset the fan base, but they did it anyway. AND IT MADE SENSE. Spencer and Caleb made more sense than any other couple on the show. They had been friends for years and had a connection that we saw grow specifically becoming deeper in season 5. Their personalities were so alike and they worked so well together. they were the smartest on the show. hannah and caleb were cute, but they were teenagers. the show made everyone end up with their highschool sweetheart, it felt artificial and forced. spencer and caleb came together as adults after having years of a healthy friendship. it felt real and like it would actually work and last in the real world. I get why people hate it because Spencer and Hannah being best friends, but taking Hannah out of the picture, spencer and caleb realistically would have been a couple that ended up together. i feel like i’m the only person who was hoping that they’d work out but i guess i should have known the writers wouldn’t be that brave to upset the majority of the fan base. anyone else like them?
