What am I missing??

okay so i’m replacing a vanity/sink. The first picture is the original hardware. Second photo is new sink/drain, obviously needs to attach to the P-trap but the drain is not threaded and is smaller than the trap. Please tell me what I am missing obviously not a plumber have done a few sinks but I guess always had what i needed
