Season 2 episode 7 mentally and PHYSICALLY abused me

So spoilers for season 2.

Dude what was that. They ended episode 6 with BLUE HAIRED BEAUTY MIST saying it’s been TWENTY YEARS since surfshare (forgot the ui virus name), almost ate Caspian whole. That was the first hit to the gut. That surprise really got me.

Then in episode 7 HALF OF THE HUMAN POPULATION UPLOADED?! It feels like Holstrom kind of won in the end with this information, BUT THEN I FIND OUT WAXMAN AND ELLEN UPLOADED?! Ellen in particular was a a huge surprise I had to pause the episode just to process that along with everything else.

Then going into the drone and just looking at how absent the world is with half the population uploading themselves. Which is SO crazy. The fact so many people were so ok with leaving their mortal lives and how many people started being ok with UI’s taking jobs is so…WILD man it doesn’t seem real. I mean, good for the earth but DUDE. It must be so quiet with the rest of humanity, which was showed in Ellen’s university class. I counted only like two or three people in that lecture room (also, the reason she uploaded was cause of peer pressure? Come on Ellen)

But let’s not forget that after the first time they did ‘it’, Maddie gets pregnant. Honestly, I knew they had a kid cause I spoiled myself and went to the wiki. But not once did I thought that he was born naturally. I was thinking he was an imperfect clone OF Caspian (made from his shaved hair). One that had his own thoughts that weren’t Holstrom’s. It never occurred to me that he was made just cause Maddie and Caspian didn’t use a condom.

I honestly feel bad for Maddie. She’s the only one that wants to stay purely human in her family. Not only that but her baby sister is now openly crushing on her man smh.

Even with all this and the fact that pope is still alive, I think I was TRULY at my limit when the actual ghost of David, NOT the cyber kind, the LITERAL GHOST of David came to talk to Caspian. Like WHAT??? So…there IS an afterlife. If that’s the case then did Chanda make it? Despite the stuff he’s done, I was always rooting for him to do the right thing. I hope he did go to heaven. ;-;

But yeah, having all this run down in the second to last episode left me bruised all over. Like some dude keeps randomly punching me and running away just to do it again some other time. I hope there’s no more surprises in the last episode.

(Also, Renee and that kid just DYING instantly like that was so…random? I think that’s the word I’m looking for. I thought they’d play a bigger role. I thought the kid being Renee and Holstrom’s “prophet” would be the reason why so many started becoming UI’s, and after how long we’ve spent with her, it’s wild they just killed Renee off like that.)
