We should ban together

I read the posts and get both frustrated and excited. The idea that obesity is a self control issue only has to be dispelled. I once was one of the people who felt like the answer was get off your butt, push away from the table and go for a walk. Then my body started betraying me, first hypothyroid, then menopause, high triglycerides, etc. No matter what I did short of starving myself nothing worked, getting on the scale became traumatic and I would end up in tears. Didn’t matter how much hiking, lifting, or yoga I did.
Now we have this drug that mimics a hormone and surprise! I can an do lose weight.
As many of us have realized however, if we are not diabetic, insurance will not cover and for so many people the medication is out of reach.
It makes no sense why insurance would not look at this nothing else as preventative care. They are going to pay far more in claims for heart surgery, knee replacements, diabetic treatment. This has to change. I see so so many of us, surely someone out there has some idea how we can take action to try and push for change, lobby for reform of our health care policies, something. I don’t pretend to know where to even know where to start. What i do know is that something that can be both mind and body changing is being forced out of reach for too many of us.
Not everyone can adjust their budgets to accommodate the price, only if we are very lucky.
