Should I quit Mercy for a bit?

I've played rank more seriously since the start of overwatch 2. I play on Switch, so I basically have a partial nerf on me since aiming isn't exactly easy even when I've tried gyro.

Anyways: I really do enjoy playing Mercy, I play other heroes when Mercy doesn't fit, but I find that I can't get out of silver at all with her. I've had advice from here before about my gameplay and thought I was doing better at supporting my team but I've not really seen a difference in rank at all. I found that I got my highest rank (Gold 5) after playing a fair few Moira games. I'd just continue playing Mercy if it wasn't demoralising to see myself only fluctuating around Silver 4-2.

So should I just put Mercy away for a while for the sake of ranking up?

Edit!! I've made it to Gold 3 (from Silver 2) I'm so happy with myself!
