Summer Job?

I'm looking for a job in MN for the summer before college. I have no experience but got my EMT in December. Am I stuck volunteering? I'd like to make money for college too.

I just turned 18 and graduate in two weeks. I've interviewed at a few places with no luck because I'm heading off to college in the fall. One place told me their orientation is around two months and they don't want someone who will leave in three months. I've sent about 10 applications to different services and positions with only two interviews but no offers. They've told me because of my experience level and leaving for college in the fall.

Should I just not be open with them saying it's a summer job? Should I just volunteer?
