Cottonwoods

Did you know that lLas Cruces has removed 99.9% of all the cottonwood trees from the Mesilla Valley? This was done so more water would be available for pecan trees. Cottonwood groves are prolific up and down the river between Albuqurque and Caballo lake. I feel this was a short sighted decision made some time ago.
