Should I read any Nova and GotG comics before modern cosmic era?

Right now I'm reading the whole Abnett Modern Cosmic saga (which is fucking awesome) and plan on reading Marvel Now's and after stories. I really like these characters and was wondering if there's any good or important earlier comics to read when I'm done
