Messages from non-iPhone on macOS?

Is there a way to see SMS messages that have gone to/from my phone on macOS Messages app?

Edit: I realize I was vague. I have an iPhone but many friends do not so we're stuck on SMS. I used to see SMS on my macOS box. Don't anymore.

Based on advice below, I have activated text forwarding. When I get home from vacation I'll verify it works.
