Because she was incomplete herself. She was a disease herself. Her existence either served for someone or served her death by the doorstep.

Thats why she could take away peoples pain.

This is a more poetic way of how I see MC. Thats why the boys fell in love with her. Because she gave them trust, a sense of longing, home; because she doesn’t truly have one in any of the timelines, thats why she is home itself.
