OPINION: some of you take letterboxd way too seriously
i think some of you may be taking letterboxd too seriously. i see so many people on here obsessed with objectivity, rating films based on rigid and soulless grading systems and parroting the same few opinions, with a taste in film that’s essentially just a copy paste of the letterboxd top 250 list. this feels like such a superficial and impersonal way to experience film to me. im frankly confounded by it. do you lot even like movies? what’s stopping you from thinking for yourself and developing your own taste? this isn’t meant as snark, i genuinely want to have a discussion and understand the train of thought because it’s so different from the way i personally interact with film.
