Is driving for me?
Hi all,
I had weekly lessons for 26 weeks between February 2022 and April 2024. I passed my theory test but my instructor never entered me for a practical. They charged £375 for 6 lessons and I don't know if I was scammed.
Anyway, they spent most lessons criticising me and didn't really teach me much. I felt like I was paying for the privilege of driving a car around for an hour and a half a week. I was extremely inconsistent with the manoeuvres because we'd do them and wouldn't do them again for like 6 weeks.
The final straw was when I was driving on a 60 mph road and a pigeon wasn't moving out of the way so I swerved to save him. My instructor had a meltdown and started insulting me calling me stupid and incompetent etc. I explained I was an RSPB membership but they said it doesn't matter it's dangerous to swerve on a busy road.
Shortly after that they took early retirement and said they can't keep teaching me and I haven't had lessons since. My theory expires next month so idk if it's even worth trying to learn to drive or whether it's not for me.
Thanks
