Planning to travel all across the states sometime this year and Kentucky is on my list. Where should I go?

A while ago, I made a post asking people from all over the world (though mostly America) what people in their area think is the best place to travel to. I scrolled back and one person recommended Kentucky. The most important things to me when traveling is 1. Music, 2. Food and 3. Culture, in no particular order.

I know I can probably just google this or use ChatGPT or watch some YouTube traveling blogs but I’d prefer to ask locals themselves. I’m from nyc btw. I want to have adventures that aren’t usually advertised to tourists, something off the beaten path. I really like nature too. I’m also really big on abandoned buildings if anyone knows of cool places like that and willing to share. With food, I want something that is distinctly local. I don’t drink btw. And being able to go to local live shows (preferably something alternative) is also pretty important.

Excited to see where 2025 takes me on my journey and would much appreciate hearing a local’s perspective on where to go. So far, I’m probably going to go the waterfalls or hiking.

Sorry if this is the wrong sub tho
