Something that blew my mind about the title of Kuuga's penultimate episode 48.
So when scrolling through JP fandom spaces, I discovered a pretty fun tidbit/theory(?). The title of episode 48 is "Kuuga" but written in kanji, specifically with the kanji for "sky" (空) and "self/me" (我). Put together as "Kuuga" this can roughly mean "I am/become the sky". So you all remember how Kuuga's ending theme is "Aozora ni Naru" (Becoming the Blue Sky)?
I always thought "Kuuga" was named after "kuwagata" (stag beetle). While no doubt that played a part, this provided an alternate meaning-Godai becoming Kuuga, as the ending song indicated, is becoming a "blue sky" for everyone to look up to.
