FasTrak/phone hacked?
Hey guys, I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing this or knows wtf it means.
I have a FasTrak account, transponder sticker on my windshield gets read, my credit card gets charged so I don’t have to worry about making payments.
I used it once in December and once in January. Both times, the next day I received a text that was obviously a scam telling me to pay the “FastTrak” tolls. I just figured their system was hacked lol so I wasn’t too worried.
Well, Thursday night, I was a passenger in a friend’s vehicle. She has her own FasTrak account not connected to my own at all, and she used it for part of the ride. Friday morning, I received the scam text!
I’m not super tech savvy, but that means my location on my phone is being tracked, right? Cause how else could they have known I passed through unless it’s my phone that they’re tracking. I have an iPhone, if it matters. I don’t know where to go from here, but I’m hoping someone could point me in the right direction. Thank you!
