Is anybody else really not scared by Alien Isolation?
I was curious about Alien Isolation since so many people here have claimed it to be one of the scariest horror experiences of their life, and I just can't agree. I don't think I've been scared once throughout this game, jumpscare or otherwise. It's pretty fun, I love sneaking around the Alien, and it's really challenging; but never once have I been scared. I've been on a hunt for genuinely I-don't-know-if-I-can-keep-playing-this-game scary games, and the first two hours or so of Visage has been the only game to scratch that itch (it got less scary as you played).
I don't find the design of the Alien to be scary. I think it's cool looking, and I love the physics of the tail, but it's not scary. The setting itself isn't very scary either. It's a semi-abandoned station, but there are still people around and Ripley talks to many characters, so I don't get that feeling of being separated from society or alone - I don't feel "isolated" I guess lol.
I'd love to hear from people who both found the game scary and who didn't. I feel fairly alone in my opinion on this lol.
