People Deserve Content
This may seem obvious, but it's an idea that some people really seem to struggle with.
Some games are very niche and focus on a very specific market. For these games, their audience is so small, they need to make content that appeals to the majority of their players.
Genshin is not one of these games.
Hoyovese has tried to cast an extremely wide net to get as many people as possible. Because of this, content doesn't need to be made for "the majority". In fact, that's detrimental to the long term health of the game. Instead, they need a baseline of content that is broadly appealing, then lots of niche content that pulls in and maintains a variety of players.
Some examples of this:
Most players don't go into the deep lore of the game, reading every book and artifact description. However, Hoyovese keeps expanding this, because it greatly appeals to lore players.
Most players don't obsess over the TCG, but Hoyovese keeps expanding it. Why? Because the players who like it, love it.
Have you visited your friends Teapots? Hoyovese keeps cranking out new decorations that most people will never use. Why? Because those creative teapot players are really proud of their designs.
That brings us to the current event.
It appeals to the extremely combat focused players, and yes, those with highly invested accounts.
Does that mean it might not be for you? Maybe.
Does that mean it's terrible and deserves a ton of bad feedback because it's not specifically catered to you? Absolutely not.
Why? Because people deserve content.
