Disconnect in Gen Z: USA vs China etc.

The reaction I’m seeing to the ban of TikTok, an app controlled by the Chinese Communist Party, has once again made me aware of how out of touch Gen Z is with the world. The truth is most Americans can’t stomach what goes on behind closed doors at home, and in the shadows overseas to make this country what it is. Gen Z certainly cannot stomach it. Gen Z may be the most aware alongside millennials of all the dark shit our country does to remain on top, but Gen Z is the most intolerant of it, while being the most oblivious to the necessity of it. It’s nothing new - young people want to tear shit down - they’d rather throw the baby out with the bath water than tolerate a system which they find repulsive. But guess what? The world needs America. If all of the young people got their way and tore America down to its roots, the world would get much much darker. Gen Z seems completely naive to just how dark China and Russia are, along with their allies - and just how badly they want to be in our throne. There is this bullshit sentiment amongst young people that because America has skeletons in its closet, that somehow Chinese and Russian narratives are to be trusted.

Yes your precious app got deleted because it was controlled by a foreign government which attacks and undermines our country at every turn. A foreign nation that is well on its way to displacing us because of its ability to rapidly transform and develop with the aid of its totalitarian control of its people. China has been ripping off our intellectual property at the highest levels - they’ve infiltrated our universities and corporations and stolen knowledge and research that took decades. They execute cyber attacks on our systems, and run currency manipulation schemes. Their military trains daily to specifically combat us. Make no mistake: they are our enemy.

Show some fucking patriotism, and if that’s too hard for you, at least take a step back and look around at how good we’ve got it compared to so many other places. It sounds cliche but god dammit are you guys privileged to be born in the USA. This toxic doomer mentality needs to stop, because the alternative is your quality of life getting way worse with China at the head of the world. There’s a nation of over a billion people, with a growing middle class that now outnumbers our entire nation. What gives us any sort of fighting chance of maintaining our grip on the world and providing it with some semblance of freedom, if our own youth is siding with China. And don’t give me some bullshit about how “America doesn’t provide freedom to the world”. Look at North vs South Korea, and read the Wikipedia about that war. America and its dealings are so far from perfect and clean, but god dammit the alternative is DARK. The combination of TikTok brainrot propaganda and a failure of the American education system + “COVID kids”seems to have created major gaps in history knowledge amongst younger people. I urge you to read up about life in China during the cultural revolution, life under communism in Eastern Europe, and the very real consequences of communism extant today in places like North Korea, China, and Russia.

Go use Instagram reels if you can’t handle your crippling dopamine withdrawals. What the fuck is the big deal. I don’t give a damn about the “businesses” on TikTok, booms and busts happen all the time. It’s not just about data, which I hear over and over again - TikTok is literally manipulating public opinion in the USA. We have a foreign adversary dictating an algorithm and moderating censorship on an app with a direct line to millions of Americans.

Additional thought: Lots of comments about “tech oligarchs”. Guess what? China has their own. Your choice is if you want billionaire tech oligarchs controlling the narrative, or Chinese communist tech oligarchs under supervision of the Chinese communist party controlling the narrative. The fact that you guys are presenting the narrative that our real and only enemy is our own billionaire class just shows that the TikTok propaganda has really gotten to you. People in the comments saying “fuck America” are a prime example of the infection within Gen Z caused in a large part by TikTok brain rot propaganda. Again: America is far from perfect, but I assure you that China is far far worse.
