Garmin strap is irritaiting my wrist

I got a Vivoactive 5 as a present last Xmas to replace my fitbit. This one, just like the fitbit has a rubber or silicone strap, not sure what this soft material is. But the Garmin is causing my wrist skin to be red and itchy. I did not have this isaue with the fitbit which seem to have the straps made out of a very similar material. Did anyone else had this issue? Are there better alternative for straps?
