Why are people still using Channels, instead of Event Binding?

Recently, I've been seeing a lot of content and people using channels to handle logic connections. Am I missing something about channels? Why don't they use Event Binding, which in my opinion way more intuitive than Channels. People still use the Channel Device. But why use a channel if a Trigger Exists? I thought Channels was only the legacy method of creative events, Do people just prefer Channels? Do they have some kind of secret knowledge I don't know about? What's going here?
