What happened from season 6 to 7?

I get the drop off in quality from 3 to 4 but season 6 was for me atleast pretty good and at moments very good, so i dont get how the show could get so much worse so quickly. Did they change writers again without me knowing? The cinematography and writing EVERYTHING is so so much worse.
