Meta won't let me run ads with prepaid funds

I'm trying to run ads using only prepaid funds but they would still ask me for a payment method, what gives?

I just gave them a sizeable amount of funds, to run ads easily one or two weeks, why won't they run them until funds run out? Am I understanding something wrong about all of this?
