White Desert Without Camping? Advice

I am planning on doing 1 night in White Desert as a day trip from Cairo this January. I understand it is cold in the night at that time so not possible to camp. So, I have two questions:

• Can you get public transport to Farafra from Cairo, and use this as a base. Then get a tour from Farafra to the nearby white and black desert? Is this recommended or should I get a tour from Cairo?

• If I do get a tour from Cairo, can you get a tour without camping, where you stay in a hotel in Farafra?
