These sandbox changes to ability builds are a massive L
From my initial experience testing a bunch of my warlock builds, it feels as though most ability-based builds got completely gutted with the change to kickstart mods. Somehow despite the buffs to feed the void, contraverse hold devourlock feels clunky and terrible after the changes.
Ironically, the only build I had no problems with was solar warlock with sunbracers, which was already an outlier and now seems to be the only functioning option in terms of ability spam.
I understand that bungie intended to bring abilities down with this change, but it really seems to have only worked on the 'fun off-meta' builds as opposed to the actually strong ones.
Edit: As an addendum to explain my issues with the contraverse build, I'd like to say that I used it as a 'one size fits all' build that fit for both low end content and also higher end stuff. Now, with the kick-start changes, low end content like the seasonal quest felt pretty bad, with enemies dying before my grenade could get a chance to recharge and no kick-start juice like we had before to at least supplement it like we had before.
I'm gonna give nothing manacles a go when I get the chance, hopefully that feels a little better for the low end stuff, though I've never enjoyed how inconsistent the regen seems to be on those.
