The second book of Deborah Harkness, in which Diana and Matthew travel back to Elizabethian time,that is for them 1590-1591 is a very good book indeed. I shall not reveal to much, but Diana is seeking for answers and guidance, but things also are dangerous in another time. We find a lot of historical figures like Queen Elizabeth,William Shakespeare,Kayser Rudolf II,John Dee,Edward Kelly,Rabbi Loew of Prague, King James and many other historical people For me this was a real treat, because I’ve met them in the many books on the occult, Judaica, witchcraft and science I’ve studied.
You don’t have to be a historian to like the books, but if you are it is an extra treat for you. For those interested in witchcraft and magick it is an extra bonus.
