To replace the cvt or move on…

Hey all! Basically I have a 16 crosstrek. 145k miles, runs great, and love the car. Got a bit of an emotional bond to it at this stage. But cvt is starting to go. :( We don’t have a ton of money, and getting a new car even with trade in is not an option for us. Once stuff like this starts to break, is it the start of a waterfall of problems? Or could it be a one-and-done job?

Given that we could only afford a used transmission from a wrecker, and that the vehicle was otherwise well maintained, what would you do?
