Why is older men creeping on younger women acceptable in so many Christian spaces?

I grew up in a Christian K-12/church community. Saw so many men who were 5-10 years graduated trying to hit on high school girls who they would have only known as CHILDREN when these men were in HS. And when those same girls turned 18-22 they had men into their 30s trying to “hang out” or corner them at church. From what I’ve seen (and experienced), typically these girls feel uncomfortable in these situations, though older adults around them seem to encourage or laugh about creepy behavior.

Why are these actions not acknowledged as “predatory”. I’ve spent time outside specifically Christian communities now and do not see these same dynamics elsewhere.
