Phone Scam - Grand Jury - Failure to appear

I want to turn to this community to advise and listen to anyone that received a call claiming to be CHS County Sheriff. I was contacted by a individual(s) claiming I have failed to appear for a grand jury trial in-state despite never receiving a jury notice - they claimed I signed the notice. I told that was a forgery, they claim a neighbor may have signed - not possible. I will be arrested at my home or airport if I do not pay the required bond $5k, after I questioned them, it was reduced to $1k - must send the funds via PayPal, ApplePay, Venmo, Zelle etc. Red Flag - I was out of the state at the time of the call but could not verify it until I ended the call - they called repeatedly from a 803 and 843 number tied to the sheriff's office on Leeds Dr. in NC. I goggled and saw this: https://sheriff.charlestoncounty.org/ - Top line says it all.

Went to the County Police - was told this is a huge scam occurring around the holidays and people are concerned about law enforcement. I researched Grand Jury Failure to Appear is an offense with fine, 72 hours jail time or community service. There are many details that I will leave out due to you don't know who is behind this scam - Be Safe !
