Citroen C4 clutch pedal placement feels...off

I'm in a rental Citroen C4 for a few days. I noticed that the footrest and clutch pedals seem really close together. When I go to put my foot on the rest it clips the edge of the clutch. When I push the clutch down it catches the edge of the footrest. Never had this issue in other cars. Wondered if others had come across it before?
