how common is it for cats to accidentally hurt you with their claws?

hello friends! i hope everyone’s holiday season is going well. i’m finishing up my finals for my second to last semester in college so there is a lot of stress, but calicos make it better!!

i’m curious to hear from others how common it is for their cats to do what my calico does with her claws, because i’ve never met a cat that did this to the extent that mine does.

a lot of times when im loving on my calico, she will push her claws out and dig them into my skin, but it’s obvious she’s doing this in a “oh hell yeah these are some great pets” kind of way rather than a “leave me tf alone” way because all her other body language indicates so, and she leans into the pets. she also does this when she kneads on me. she will climb on me every single morning at 6 am and knead. on me. with her claws!!! it lowkey really hurts!! she’s never left a mark on me from it, so it’s totally not a big deal, but i was curious if anyone else’s cat does this. i trim her nails pretty regularly to help them not be so sharp when she digs them into me, but it still hurts.

my calico is a rescue who was an outdoor cat, so im guessing if this is not normal/common, she does it because of her previous outdoor life (or “street cred” as i call it)
