Remember, supporting Canadian businesses doesn't have to be perfect, anything is better than nothing!

I got into a conversation with a family member who thinks this movement is temporary and very black or white. They were giving me shit about still shopping at Costco, an American company, and saying that because I shop at Costco, all my "buy Canada" stuff is virtue signalling BS.

I don't think supporting Canada has to be perfect, everyone should just do what they can. For example

- I'm still going to shop at Costco, but I'll pick Costco a company that pays workers better and resisted Trump's attempts to dismantle DEI versus Walmart, a company that destroys local businesses by undercutting prices and a company that rolled over on DEI the moment it didn't serve their interests

- I go to Costco and instead of buying the American soda like Coke and Poppi like we usually do, we decided to support Cove Soda, founded in nova scotia (shopping at Costco let's us buy a new canadian soda alternative that isn't carried in a lot of stores, and it helps out the Canadian business)

- There's a drug made my Pfizer an america pharma company that I need with no generics. Am I going to stop taking it to boycott America? no of course not. But our family did switch what we could change like shampoo, skincare, lotion, etc. to Canada brands as our currently bottles start to empty

I guess what I'm trying to say is, just because you can't 100% buy Canadian, doesn't mean you should give up. 80%, 60%, even 10% more is better than 0%. Do what you can. Cheers everyone
