BTFL shiny christian fundamentalism hiding a dark underbelly

I've been reading a lot of nonfiction around Christian Fundamentalism and Evangelism and the crossover with far right politics, home schooling, Conservative views, mega churches, purity culture, etc, and the commonality of abuse and negativity that often hides (or is sometimes plain to see) within. I'd like to read some fiction if anyone has some recommendations. No shade to any form of religion, I'm an agnostic who respects the potential for religion to achieve amazing things, I'm just interested in what's happening here.
